Daddy owen

Biography
The government knows me as 29 year old Owen Mwatia, but my fans know me as Daddy Owen. I began my musical journey during my high school years spent at Chebuyusi High School. I was an active member of the Drama and Music clubs before I discovered my passion for music and would often spend time composing songs.
After high school, I decided to take music seriously and in 2003 began recording as a professional artist under the guidance of my brother, renowned gospel singer Rufftone. Singing is a talent that doesn’t come easy. My first years of recording were really challenging because of financial constraints that affected my studio time. Additionally, many assumed that he was just riding on his brother’s success.
Through God’s grace and blessings I now have three albums Haijalishi (features the hit single, Shilingi Ya Kenya), Son of Man (features Run Dem) and System ya Kapungala (features Tobina) all of which have gained recognition from the Groove Awards (2010 – Male Artiste of The Year) and the MTV Africa Music Awards (2010 – Best Anglo African Act). You can sample some of my music in my videography.
I love Jesus and the Good Book which I always live by, especially the bible verse, James 1:4, that says it is through patience and endurance that one will be able to live a fully purpose driven life.
